Bloomin' Crazy- First Saturday at the Zoo
FIRST SATURDAY AT THE ZOO/BLOOMIN' CRAZY, A PLANT FAIR The Sacramento Zoo's First Saturday's will be from March through September, with a variety of special themes. This First Saturday, March 3rd from 9 am to 4 pm will be the second annual Bloomin' Crazy. This plant fair will celebrate the grand opening of the Zoo's backyard! The Zoo has a significant plant collection and this First Saturday's purpose is to involve local organizations to educate visitors about gardening and plants. Plants serve a number of functions here at the Zoo. Some are used as cover or shelter and some, such as bamboo, acacia and mirror plants, are grown as browse (fresh treats) for the animals. To promote the Zoo's gardens and plants in general, we plan to involve local plant societies, garden stores, nurseries and more with booth space on the reptile house lawn. General admission for ages 13 and over is $8.00. Admission for ages 3-12 is $5.50. Children two and under are admitted free. For more information, please call 916-808-5888.
