Several foster/adoptive parents will share their experiences with fostering and what it has meant to them and their families. Our classes will serve to answer many questions we know you have and work to demystify common fallacies regarding the requirements for becoming a licensed foster parent. We will talk about who foster children and their birth families are, issues and considerations of child abuse, reunification goals, concurrent planning, adoption from foster care, foster care licensing, and the certification process for placing children with relatives (kinship) and non-relative extended family members.
