The Yolo County Planning, Resources and Public Works Department, Division of Integrated Waste Management is sponsoring another Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Drop-off Day at the Yolo County Central Landfill on Saturday, November 18, 2006. The event will take place from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM ONLY. The Yolo County Central Landfill is located at the intersection of County Roads 28H and 104, Northeast of Davis. Types of materials that will be accepted include: batteries, cleaning supplies, lighter fluid, antifreeze, aerosol cans (no empties), garden pesticides and herbicides, electronic devices with a circuit board (VCRs, cell phones, microwaves, telephones, printers, radios, computers, monitors, TVs), latex or oil based paints, solvents, poisons, fluorescent bulbs or tubes, electrical switches/relays, pilot light sensors, mercury thermostats, used motor oil and used oil filters.
The Department of Transportation regulations allow residents to haul up to 125 pounds or 15 gallons of household hazardous waste.

Residents are also encouraged to attend the reusable items Day the Saturday following HHW drop-off events. The next reuse pick-up date is November 25nd, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Reusable items from the HHW event (paint, cleaners, etc.) are available free of cost at this event.
Business hazardous waste from small quantity generators is accepted for a fee by appointment only. Dial (800) 433-5060 to schedule an appointment.
