West Sacramento Fairs its First 20 Years
West Sacramento will host the 6th Annual ''Neighbors Fair'' on Saturday, October 6 in River Walk Park from noon to 7 p.m. The multi-cultural event, designed to celebrate the diverse populations that make up West Sacramento's growing community, will feature an array of family-oriented activities and events including the Community Day Parade, crafts, ethnic foods, entertainment and fireworks. The Saturday event is preceded by a three day juried Art Show from Wednesday, October 3 through 5 at the West Sacramento City Hall Galleria.
This year, the entire four day event coincides with West Sacramento's 20th anniversary, so there's even more reason to celebrate. Headliner Malo, featuring Carlos Santana's brother, Jorge, will keep everybody moving. Mick Martin, originally from West Sacramento, and his Blues Rockers will rock the crowd. Other home-grown entertainers include the Aneesh Belly Dancing Troupe, Russian Concert Band and the Sikh Temple Dancers.
Kids will enjoy the KidZone with games, activities, and inflatable's. Attractions also include the amazing display of the Kinetic Racing Kontraptions and the Freewheelers' awesome vintage cars. But that's only the beginning. An extensive craft alley will satisfy avid shoppers and knick-knack collectors alike. Then, at dusk, an extraordinary fireworks show will commemorate West Sacramento's 20 years of city-hood.
Neighbors throughout the region are invited. River Walk Park is located at 3rd and F Streets … For directions and more detailed scheduling information, visit our Web site at www.wsneighborsfair.com.
