The ducks are coming! On Saturday, August 18 up to 20,000 rubber ducks will descend on the Sacramento River for the Third Annual Great Sacramento Duck Race benefiting Special Olympics Northern California. These quacky rubber racers will be dumped off the I-Street bridge via front-loading tractors, and will race to the finish line at the Tower Bridge. Fabulous grand prizes like a new hot tub, home energy makeover, travel packages and cash will be awarded to the first fifteen ducks to reach the Tower Bridge. Race day festivities include live music and interactive family entertainment at Waterfront Park in Old Sacramento. Ducks can be adopted at City Hall or online at www.sacramentoduckrace.com. For event day info, please visit our website or call the official duck race hotline at 916-929-RACE. Proceeds from the race will support the training and competition of Special Olympics athletes in the Sacramento region.
