"Be Brave & Go Bald'' for Local Kids Fighting Cancer Team BALD CHICKS is made up of three women who are determined to stop childhood cancer. We are happy to sacrifice our hair to raise money for a cause so close to our hearts. Sharon Raimondo is the mother of three energetic boys. Her oldest son Joey was diagnosed with AML leukemia when he was three. After spending 6 months at UC Davis undergoing intensive and life threatening treatments, Joey is now a happy and healthy five year old, in remission for nearly two years. Jennifer Rodacker is a mother of two; her youngest child, Thomas, was recently diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer at 7 months. He is currently undergoing intensive treatment at Sutter Memorial Hospital. His next stop is UC San Francisco, for more treatments. While Tommy's prognosis was not good, he is a strong little boy who is fighting with all of his might against the cancer with lots of love and his parent's faith on his side. Heather Stokhaug is also the mother of two; she has joined Bald Chicks on behalf of her friends' children, as well as her healthy children. She has learned first hand how no one is protected from childhood cancer, and she wants to see all children remain healthy and happy.
