DESCRIPTION:September 9\, 2006\nContact: County of Yolo Planning\, Resources & Public Works Department\nJennifer Caldwell \n(530) 666-8856\nYolo County Plans Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off Day\nSaturday\, September 9\, 2006\n \nThe Yolo County Planning\, Resources and Public Works Department\, Division of Integrated Waste Management is sponsoring another Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Drop-off Day at the Yolo County Central Landfill on Saturday\, September 9\, 2006. The event will take place from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM ONLY. The Yolo County Central Landfill is located at the intersection of County Roads 28H and 104\, Northeast of Davis. Call (530)-666-8729 or visit www.yolocounty.org/recycle for directions or more event information.\n \nTypes of materials that will be accepted include: batteries\, cleaning supplies\, lighter fluid\, antifreeze\, aerosol cans (no empties)\, garden pesticides and herbicides\, electronic devices with a circuit board (VCRs\, cell phones\, microwaves\, telephones\, printers\, radios\, computers\, monitors\, TVs)\, latex or oil based paints\, solvents\, poisons\, fluorescent bulbs or tubes\, electrical switches/relays\, pilot light sensors\, mercury thermostats\, used motor oil and used oil filters. \nThe Department of Transportation regulations allow residents to haul up to 125 pounds or 15 gallons of household hazardous waste.\nHousehold hazardous waste will be accepted from Yolo County residents only. No agricultural\, medical or infectious waste\, please. Household hazardous waste collection events are held every other month from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Remaining collection days for 2006 are: November 18. \nResidents are also encouraged to attend the reusable items Day the Saturday following HHW drop-off events. The next reuse pick-up date is September 16th\, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Reusable items from the HHW event (paint\, cleaners\, etc.) are available free of cost at this event.\nBusiness hazardous waste from small quantity generators is accepted for a fee by appointment only.
