DESCRIPTION:This scenic and non-competitive 5K walk brings together participants of all ages to promote friendship and fitness while raising funds for local Special Olympics athletes.  Walkers are encouraged to raise money for Special Olympics by collecting pledges from friends\, family\, neighbors and associates\, and can earn great incentive prizes for reaching various fundraising levels.  There is no registration fee to participate in the Walk.  Registration begins at 8 am\, and the Walk begins at 9 am.  Family activities include live music\, face painting\, craft booths\, refreshments and more.  Dogs and strollers are welcome.  Corporate & community teams are encouraged to show your pride with team t-shirts\, banners and signs. Remember - it costs $250 to train one Special Olympics athlete for one season.  Special Olympics offers 19 sports over 4 training seasons\, and all programs are offered 100% free of charge to eligible athletes.  Please consider supporting this worthwhile cause as an individual Walker or Team Captain.
