SUMMARY:Sign Ordinance Workshop #1
DESCRIPTION:A letter is being sent to business owners as an early notice that all nonconforming signs in the city of West Sacramento must be removed by May 1\, 2008.  This is a citywide ordinance and plans are underway for the Code Enforcement team to conduct sign enforcement sweeps to identify businesses with nonconforming signs.  We understand that removing a nonconforming sign may have an impact on your business but this is a significant change and it comes at a time when we are continuing to move forward with improvements throughout the city.\n\n\n\nTo assist businesses with the process of removing nonconforming signs and replacing with a conforming one\, Project Pride will host workshops to provide information about the ordinance along with resources to help streamline the process associated with this change.  Attached is a 1-page fact sheet with some key information that will be discussed in more detail at the workshops.  Representatives from the city of West Sacramento\, West Sacramento Chamber of Commerce and vendors in the sign industry will be at the workshops.  Please note\, the nonconforming sign must be removed by May 1\, 2008\; however\, the process entailed with this change can take several months from the time to obtain a permit to the time to design and install a new sign.\n\n\n\nThe following workshops are scheduled and will cover the same material.  You are welcome to pick whichever workshop best fits your schedule:\n\n\n\nWorkshop 1\n\nNovember 1\, 2007 from 6 to 8 pm\n\nCity Hall\, 1110 West Capitol Avenue\n\nRSVP Date: October 30\, 2007\n\n\n\nPlease RSVP to the West Sacramento Chamber\, 916-371-7042\, or register on line through this website by the respective date for the workshop you plan to attend.  Light refreshments will be provided.\n\n\n\nThe workshop will also provide information about Project Pride\, which is a multi-year initiative with the business community working jointly with our City government and residents to ensure our community reaches its potential.\n\n\n\nThank you for your attention to this matter.
