DESCRIPTION:Learn About Large-scale Habitat Restoration at the Yolo Wildlife Area\n\n\n\nChadd Santerre\, Senior Biologist with the California Waterfowl Association\, is the featured speaker at the Yolo Basin Foundation's Flyway Nights lecture on January 10th at 7pm.  Mr. Santerre will discuss some of the large scale habitat restoration projects undertaken at the Yolo Wildlife Area\, as well as other sites.\n\n\n\nMr. Santerre oversees the survey\, design\, and construction management of grant projects awarded through the federal North American Wetlands Conservation Act.  As of the fall of 2006\, he had completed 178 projects which have restored almost 11\,000 acres and enhanced almost 36\,000 acres of waterfowl habitat within the Central Valley at a cost of $9.1 million.\n\n\n\nThe Yolo Basin Foundation hosts Flyway Nights the first Wednesday of the month from November to April.  The talks are held at the Department of Fish and Game's Yolo Wildlife Area Headquarters at 45211 Chiles Road.  A $5 donation to support the program is suggested\, and Yolo Basin members are free.
