DESCRIPTION:Join us at the 2019 Discover the Flyway docent training! Docents lead hands-on learning stations with small groups of students\, assist with field supplies and team up with staff to co-lead and assist with Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area nature walks. No experience necessary\, just a passion for sharing nature with children! Training will cover wetland basics as well as each of the learning stations. New docents are highly encouraged to attend all training sessions. Individuals with science and teaching backgrounds are encouraged to volunteer. Discover the Flyway Docent Training Schedule: Tuesday\, September 3: 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Thursday\, September 5: 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Monday\, September 9: 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Wednesday\, September 11: 2 - 6 p.m. (note later time) Friday\, September 13: 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. @ Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area Headquarters Volunteer opportunities for Discover the Flyway are on weekdays from about 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for learning stations and 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. for Wildlife Area tours. Docents are asked to commit to lead or assist a minimum of three times a month. For more information and to fill out a volunteer application\, please visit www.yolobasin.org/volunteer.
