The mission for the West Sacramento
Chamber of Commerce is to create, promote and maintain a
favorable economic climate and quality of life for its
members and the community at large.
Economic Development
To achieve
sustainable economic growth by building a diverse economy
and employment base to provide opportunity and prosperity
for our residents, businesses, entrepreneurs, and community
through strong cohesive local and regional collaboration.Goals
- Develop and maintain a competitive business climate
- Work with the City to develop recruitment documents
evaluating a business model for economic success
- Participate in identifying and promoting, new and
expanded opportunities
- Land Use Issues – business displacement or
relocation issues related to Land use

Business Advocacy
To provide the
leadership to ensure West Sacramento is a "Pro-Business"
community.Goals
- Identify ways the Chamber can assist, promote, and
support its Members in the changing business climate
- Represent the interests of our constituency to
government
- Identify and address issues impacting our Members
and the business community at large

Building Community Pride
To work with both
existing and new businesses and residents to unify and
promote pride in our communityGoals
- Community Image – Educate the community to enhance
pride in our accomplishments, respect for our history,
and build excitement about our future Communicate the
vision and changes of our community within the region
- Appearance – working with the business community,
the City and residents to enhance all aspects of our
community

Education
Support a full range
of educational opportunities throughout our communityGoals
- Provide educational seminars for the Business
Community
- Work with the Washington Unified School District on
the school district’s reorganization to improve academic
performance
- Work with Washington Unified School District to
provide Vo-Tech Educational programs
- Encourage workforce training programs to train or
retrain residents for continually evolving employment
sector
- Provide mentors to the elementary schools

Membership and Communications
To retain and enhance
Chamber’s leadership by expanding and retaining Members. To
communicate goals and accomplishments of the organization to
the Membership, the City and residents.Goals
- Maintain a Membership retention of 91.5% annually
- Increase new Member revenue by 100% in 2008
- Develop a Project Pride website
- Develop and execute a Public Relations strategy
- Review and enhance Member Benefits
- Develop process of communicating to business
community and residents activities and accomplishments
of Project Pride
