2008 West Sac on the Go!  Keynote by: John Garamendi
West Sac on the Go! is a biennial event highlighting recent growth and significant development within the City of West Sacramento, as well as the many exciting new projects on the horizon. The event showcases the West Sacramento Chamber and the City of West Sacramento’s partnership to recognize our community’s achievements and upcoming developments.

Lieutenant Governor John Garamendi served in the State Assembly from 1974-1976 and in the State Senate from 1976-1990, including a term as Senate Majority Leader. He became California's first elected Insurance Commissioner, serving from 1991-1995, then was appointed by President Bill Clinton as the Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Interior from 1995-1998. He returned to the California Department of Insurance in 2003, after his reelection as Insurance Commissioner.

News 10's Jennifer Smith to Emcee Event
The emcee for this event is News 10 anchor Jennifer Smith. She is a veteran broadcaster who has been with the station since 1980. She's reported live from presidential inaugurations, political conventions, and the California visits of Pope John Paul II and Queen Elizabeth. We are pleased to have Jennifer involved with our event.

West Sac on the Go! attendees will enjoy a guided bus tour through the community, visit trade booths, and attend a luncheon addressed by keynote speaker Lt. Governor John Garamendi. Immediately following the bus tour, attendees will be invited to a post tour networking opportunity, where experts will be on hand to answer questions about current projects and future developments.
