West Sacramento Chamber Committees
Working Together We Make a Difference
Public Affairs
Responsible for developing Chamber positions on significant
economic development and city government issues that impact
the Chamber Membership and the community. It is responsible
for reviewing, evaluating and commenting on City issues that
directly impact the business community prior to adoption by
City Council.
Meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7:30 am
Ambassadors
Charged with Member outreach, Ambassadors serve as greeters
at Chamber luncheons and special events, visit new Chamber
Members and survey Members to ensure the Chamber is meeting
their needs and expectations.
Meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 11:30 am
Business Education
Partnering business and education to promote learning
opportunities.
Meets the last Thursday of the month at 3:30 p.m.
Project Pride
Project Pride is a
multi-year initiative with the business community working
jointly with our City government and residents to ensure our
community reaches its potential. There are several
committees (see below) working within this initiative.

Lighting of the Ziggurat and Beautification
through
Lighting the Waterfront
The committee's mission is to use light as a
tool to beautify the City of
West Sacramento creating an atmosphere where
people want to be.

West Capitol Avenue
Corridor
Working with business owners to upgrade their
business appearances. Work with the City to
remove those few motels that support drug and
prostitution activities.

Raley’s Landing Boat Dock Rebuilding
This committee is working toward the repair
and reopening of the boat dock at Raley’s Landing,
allowing boaters an opportunity to visit West
Sacramento for entertainment or a baseball game.

Freeway Signage & Gateway Improvements
Implement a program to enhance the city’s
entrances, finding creative ways to show the
spirit of our community through signage and
architectural enhancements. This can include
community activity banners promoting seasonal
events, or displaying service organization logos
at gateway locations and improving the quality
of freeway signage and using signage space to
direct travelers to city businesses. It may also
include new signs as well as eliminating or
upgrading ones that do not portray the proper
image of West Sacramento.

Public Art & Historical Markers
To make West Sacramento into an “Art City” in
the same way that it has become a “Tree City”. A
goal is to get people to come to West Sacramento
as a destination because of its reputation for a
focus on the arts and for its public
installations of art. Creating opportunities for
all citizens to participate in art and to be
inspired by art. Working toward becoming a city
known for supporting the arts. Additionally,
this committee is partnering with the West
Sacramento Historical Society to develop
monuments and historical markers celebrating the
community’s history. |

Recreational Access Committee
Working to provide access to recreation for
every man, woman and child, at any time of life
and accommodating any mental/physical
capability. Focus areas include:

Trail (multi-mode linear
facilities)
Additionally, this committee
will seek to provide recreation opportunities
through a range of facility types, including:

Access and Amenities for
recreational use of the Sacramento River,
Barge Canal, Port Seaway and Deep Water Ship
Channel

Special Events
Throughout the year the Chamber holds several special events
each with its own committee. Events include: Chamber Golf
Tournament; BridgeFest; Christmas Tree Lighting. |
